First, two regulators from the California Department of Public Health walked in unannounced for our first random survey in 7 years.  Of course we were nervous, because no one is perfect, after all, and these regulators are tough!

They audited all of our employee files, looking specifically for proof that we had run background checks, completed health and TB screenings, had ongoing education completed and documented, had proper agreements with clients, documentation of care provided, legal accounting and billing practices, etc. One of the surveyors also travelled to the Culver City office to verify it meets code and is run in partnership with San Diego’s parent office.

We’re proud to say the state regulators found no deficiencies.

That was a great warm up for our next survey, which was from a regulator for the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, who showed up two weeks later!  ACHC also gave us a renewal with no plan of correction needed.

This success is a testament to our employees who value training, who are willing to follow strict guidelines, and who are willing to make corrections when we find little errors.

Thank you as well to the clients who received a surprise visit from the state regulators, we appreciate your understanding.

Next, we plan to add a Medicare certification, sometime in the late summer or early fall, so that we can offer more streamlined services to our clients and care partners in the community.   Stay tuned to learn more about that.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”3091″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][/vc_column][/vc_row]
