The former 10News Anchor/Reporter, Lauren Reynolds, opened her home care business in 2010 after her own mother needed help at home
At Home Nursing Care founder and administrator Lauren Reynolds of San Diego was first named Entrepreneur of the Year by the San Diego North Chamber of Commerce for her efforts to improve homecare in San Diego. The 2013 honor occurred just three years after Lauren Reynolds retired from a successful news career at ABC 10News in San Diego, earning 11 Emmy Awards, recognition by the State Assembly and a leadership award from the San Diego Human Relations Commission.
Now many years later, Lauren Reynolds continues to be a pioneer in in home care, including sitting on the board of the California Association for Health Services at Home, expanding her agency to be part of the VA Community Care Network and becoming certified by Medicare to offer Medicare home health services.
Her agency, At Home Nursing Care, has been named Best in North Coast for In Home Care for 7 years in a row, for which she is very thankful to employees, clients, care partners and referral sources for voting to help the agency win.
“Being named Entrepreneur of the Year and now Best of North Coast are such a wonderful honors, I’m very thankful to the chamber and to my incredible staff of employees for making that possible,” Reynolds said.
She was recognized for growing her in home care and home health business to more than 75 employees and for revenue growth topping 300% in the first three years. Her employees enjoy higher than industry standard wages, a 401 K with a 4% company match and ongoing training. Long before it was required, At Home Nursing Care offered better benefits than the competition.
“We treat our employees with respect and dignity, so they will in turn provide the best care possible for those who call us to get companionship, personal care and nursing at home,” Lauren Reynolds said.
In Home Care You Can Trust
The agency is not only licensed by the California Department of Social Services as a home care organization, but is also licensed by the California Department of Public Health as a home health agency and is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care.
The agency later opened a branch office to offer in home care services in Culver City, California, just a few blocks from where Lauren Reynolds grew up.
From that office, people in the west side and south bay areas of Los Angeles County can receive quality in home care services whether they need a companion, personal care attendant, care manager, nurse, physical therapist or occupational therapist.
In addition, At Home Nursing Care and its subsidiary, At Home Care Solution, are a leading provider of free continuing education for health care professionals.
The Inspiration Behind At Home Nursing Care
Reynolds founded her company in 2010 after experiencing first hand the need for quality in home care. Her mother, who died at age 58, needed home care for the last 10 months of her life. The experience inspired Reynolds to retire from a 15 year career as a news reporter for 10 News. Lauren Reynolds tells the story of what inspired her to open At Home Nursing Care in this video.
“Home care is my calling now, and I’m so grateful for the clients and their families who put their trust in me. I’ve never regretted making this change, and I truly appreciate the recognition,” she said.
