“When my mother was diagnosed with aggressive and terminal breast cancer at age 56, she asked us to promise that she could spend the rest of her days in the comfort of her own home. We made that happen for my mother. We worked hard to make that happen for my mother. We’d be honored to make that happen for you or someone you love. The picture above is one of the last I took with my mother, on her 58th birthday. She passed away later that year, way too young. Lauren with her brother and her mother, Marykay, 3 months before she passed from breast cancer at age 58.
I know the pain of watching someone once vibrant and energetic slowly succumb to an illness. It’s heartbreaking and overwhelming. I’ve been where you are right now. Having extra care allows family members to enjoy their time with their parent or spouse, without all of the added stress of having to worry about being a nurse to your loved one. Give us a call, we can help.”

At Home Nursing Care, our mission is to provide the highest quality of care possible for those facing a loss of independence due to age or health related factors. We strive to exceed the expectations of families in need of home care services, whether the need is for a non-medical caregiver or a skilled nurse in the home. We succeed in providing top quality in home health care in San Diego and Los Angeles by focusing on excellent customer service, responsiveness to any issues or concerns, quality training and supervision of care provided.
At Home Nursing Care is licensed as a home health agency by the California Department of Public Health. We are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care. We have an A+ from the Better Business Bureau. We are also certified by the California Association for Health Services at Home and the American Board of Home Care. These are valuable seals of approval which demonstrate our commitment to consumer protection and our vow to provide superior service by professional, screened caregivers and in home nurses.
Certification is only awarded to agencies which show proof of insurance, including general liability, a bond for potential employee dishonesty as well as worker’s compensation insurance.
As a certified agency, At Home Nursing Care has demonstrated that all of our home care aides providing non-medical care have passed a pre-employment background clearance. This screening includes a criminal history check and a driving record screening.
Certification demonstrates that we conduct a pre-employment tuberculosis screening and a pre-employment fitness for duty physical for each individual hired as a caregiver or nurse by our company. Finally, as a certified agency we have proven that our home care providers are employees, not general contractors. This protects our clients by ensuring that all applicable social security, employment and income taxes are paid, required benefits are provided and we uphold all employment legal requirements.
Clients who hire caregivers from agencies who do not meet these standards or those who hire caregivers directly open themselves up to potential legal liability if state and federal employment laws are not followed. There is also the possibility that families may be held financially liable if a caregiver is injured in the home and there is no worker’s compensation insurance in place.
We are committed to providing a safe, respectful and nurturing work environment for our caregivers, personal care attendants and nurses. Our professional staff is committed to reducing the strain and stress on families, including offering a no-cost, in home consultation and then an assessment by a registered nurse. At the start of care, our nurse creates a care plan tailored to each client’s individual needs and the home is surveyed for any safety issues. Our nurse provides in home supervision of each client every 62days for clients receiving non-medical in home care, every 60 days for clients receiving skilled nursing care, and every 14 days for clients receiving both. At this visit, our nurse reviews care notes, speaks with the client, family and caregiver, troubleshoots any issues that have arisen and works to make sure our clients are 100 percent satisfied with our quality in home care.
At Home Nursing Care has no long-term contracts, only a private pay and service agreement which may be cancelled for any reason with 2 days’ notice. Our clients stay with us because they are 100 percent satisfied with our services. Our clients have rewarded our hard work with five star ratings and excellent reviews. Once you are a client, we will work to keep you happy and will resolve any issues that arise, or we will refer you to another quality service provider if we cannot continue to meet your needs.
We use the latest technology to monitor the care we provide, including automatic alerts if a caregiver is more than 11 minutes late for work. Our caregivers and personal care attendants provide daily logs of activities they complete with your loved one. You can view those logs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including records of when the caregiver arrived and left for the day. We also have daily charting that is tailored to each client’s need. We gladly provide copies to clients of these notes on a regular basis.
Our after-hours telephone hot-line is monitored by a manager 24/7, ensuring that a live person will answer the phone in case of an urgent care matter.
Our nursing supervisor reviews logs of care provided to ensure the care plan devised for each client is being followed, or there is an explanation for deviations in the plan.
We seek feedback and ideas on how to improve with each client, and we welcome your calls and comments. You are invited to reach out to a manager, or the Founder, Lauren Reynolds, if at any point you want to express your opinion. We value and respect the opinions of our clients, referral sources and our employees.
